If you are dealing with high blood pressure, high cholesterol or both, understanding your numbers and getting them to a safe, consistent level can significantly improve your health. Successful management of these conditions reduces your risk for heart disease, stroke and even dementia. Mission Hospital's team of experienced, specially trained educators helps you achieve this.
Our high blood pressure and cholesterol management program includes individual and group consultations with a nurse educator, pharmacist, dietitian, certified clinical social worker or behaviorist and an exercise specialist. We help you set specific goals through three educational classes that meet once a week for 2 hours. In these classes, we provide you with information about nutrition, your medications, stress management, exercise and activity, as well as general care guidelines for high blood pressure and cholesterol.
Ask your employer how to sign up for Mission's high blood pressure and cholesterol management program.
