Our residency program directors have a great deal of experience precepting residents and facilitating experiences that develop your ambulatory care skills and knowledge.

Our preceptors: Our preceptors are dedicated to residency teaching and serve as learning facilitators, mentors and models.

Our healthcare organizations are state-of-the-art and offer unique learning opportunities. 

  • Current programs focus on chronic disease management including diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension, depression, hyperlipidemia, anticoagulation, osteoporosis, medication assistance and transitions of care.
  • The hospital system has been consistently ranked among the top hospitals of its size. Mission Hospital is nationally recognized for our focus on improving the health of the community and was recognized in 2012, 2013 and 2014 as a Top 15 Health System by Truven Health Analytics for achievement of superior clinical outcomes.
  • At the heart of our ambulatory care programs are our pharmacist-managed programs. The Mission Medication Assistance Program was honored in the fall of 2012 with recognition as a Best Practice in Care Transitions by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists and American Pharmacists Association.
  • MAHEC is a regional leader in innovative approaches to interdisciplinary healthcare and education, and sponsors family medicine, OB/GYN and dental residencies as well as a geriatric fellowship. Our Family Health Center has won multiple awards for excellence in diabetes care and has received NCQA recognition as a Level III Patient-Centered Medical Home.
