Mission Pardee Partnership Brings Innovative Healthcare Campus to Fletcher Area
More than 100 people, including Hospital administrators, city and county officials, medical staff and members of the community, were on hand Friday, Oct. 7, for a celebration that marked the groundbreaking of a healthcare campus, which will be at 2651 Hendersonville Road in Fletcher.
The groundbreaking for the Mission Pardee Health Campus was the culmination of more than three years of planning on behalf of a collaborative effort between locally based Mission and Pardee hospitals. The event featured remarks by Pardee CEO Jay Kirby, Mission Health CEO Ron Paulus, M.D., and Fletcher Mayor Bill Moore.
“Since coming to Western North Carolina one year ago, I have learned that many of the region’s significant achievements in healthcare have come through cooperation and collaboration,” said Dr. Paulus. “This project is yet another example of that – two hospitals in different counties, with a long history of working together for the benefit of our patients, have come together to increase access to healthcare.”
An 80,000-square-foot facility with an outpatient focus, the facility will offer a variety of healthcare services under one roof, including:
- urgent care for those with needs outside of normal business hours
- advanced imaging: X-ray, mammography, ultrasound and CT
- laboratory service
- retail pharmacy
- physical therapy
- primary and specialty care physicians
“With an ever changing healthcare environment and increasing expectation of those who serve will require an entirely new set of values; values that emphasize perseverance, humility, disciple and teamwork,” said Jay Kirby, CEO of Pardee Hospital at the event.
The campus will be constructed on the former site of Youngblood Truck Lines, Inc., on the Henderson County line. Throughout the project, Mission and Pardee hospitals have remained committed to working together to bring outpatient services to the greater North Henderson/South Buncombe counties.
“We look forward to getting to know our Fletcher neighbors better and working with you on many health-related initiatives,” said Dr. Paulus. “Your support has gotten us this far, and with your continued support, we will gather for a ribbon cutting in the not-too-distant future.”
The goal of the Mission Pardee Health campus is to provide a healthcare environment that promotes health and manages illness through the collaboration of two locally based hospitals. The facility is designed to offer superior care and services to patients and physicians in a highly integrated, patient-centered, cost-effective outpatient setting.
