A Top 100 Critical Access Hospital offering inpatient services that include an intensive care unit and medical and surgical unit, Angel Medical Center, a member of Mission Health, is a a full-service, not-for-profit community hospital serving Macon and the surrounding counties. Outpatient services include a wound clinic, chemotherapy services, a full laboratory, digital mammography, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, rehab therapy, as well as surgical and endoscopy services. The hospital also operates CarePartners Home Health & Hospice.
In spring 2017, Angel Medical announced the combination of multiple practices under the new Mission Health Center – Franklin. The expanded office space – located at 190 Riverview Street – allows for better coordination of patient resources and improved access to on-site services such as laboratory and radiology services, as well as primary care, on-demand primary care and occupational health services. Mission Health Center – Franklin includes Angel Primary Care, Mission My Care Now - Angel and Mission WorkWell. Additionally, Angel Surgical Associates will be conveniently located with the above services at a date in the near future.
In April 2017, the Mission Health Board of Directors approved a planned $43 million investment to replace Angel Medical Center’s current hospital. This extraordinary contribution is the single largest investment to the health and well-being of the Franklin community in the history of Macon County. The new, state-of-the-art Angel Medical Center facility is a key part of Mission Health’s Mission Future Ready initiative, an exceptional plan investing more than half a billion dollars regionwide to meet the future health needs of western North Carolina.
